Seatini does the following activities:
- Organises periodic workshops for policy makers in
the southern and Eastern African region, to come together
to discuss matters of common concern to them, and
if possible, to arrive at common negotiating positions
on these matters.
- Facilitates and coordinates lunch hour meetings
with various stakeholders. These are designed to function
as an infromation exchange highway on issues related
to trade. The idea is to have the issues discussed
in a relaxed environment.
- Organises an Advisory Clinic comprised of a panel
of consultants and experts who had hands-on experience
with trade negotiations who could be called upon,
at short notice, to provide information, critical
analysis and negotiating positions and techniques.
This is a service initially available only to African
coutries and it is offered in the first instance only
over the electronic media.
